What is H20LOW, and how does it help save water?

H20LOW offers innovative water-saving solutions that reduce water consumption without compromising performance. Our products help households and businesses lower water usage, cut utility bills, and contribute to environmental sustainability.

What is a tap aerator?

A tap aerator is a small device that attaches to the end of your tap and mixes air with the water flow. This reduces water usage without compromising performance, helping you save water, energy, and money.

How does a tap aerator save water?

By mixing air into the water stream, aerators maintain pressure while using less water, leading to conservation and cost savings.

Do I need a plumber to turn my tap into a shower?

For a compatible tap, no plumber is normally required. The QuickFit replaces the existing tap aerator and creates a secure shower-hose connection without permanent plumbing alterations. Once fitted, you can attach or remove your shower hose whenever you need it.

How do I remove an old aerator?

Use a Tap Aerator Key to unscrew the existing aerator. If it's stuck due to limescale, you could try soaking the tap end in white vinegar for 10–15 minutes to loosen it. Please test an inconspicuious area of your tap to make sure there is no chance that you might damage your tap with the vinegar

How do I install a new tap aerator?

  1. Check the thread type – Most UK taps have either a male (thread on the outside) or female (thread on the inside) fitting. Our QuickFit Aerators come with adapters for both
  2. Choose the right connector – Select the appropriate adapter for your tap type and screw the aerator on by hand.
  3. Tighten gently – Ensure it's snug but avoid overtightening.
  4. Test the flow – Turn the tap on to check for leaks. If needed, hand-tighten a bit more or use a washer if included.

I have separate hot and cold taps — can I still turn them into a shower?

Yes. Choose our Hot & Cold Tap-to-Shower Conversion Pack, which is specifically designed for compatible separate hot and cold taps. It uses two Quick Fit connectors with a Y-shaped shower hose to combine the water supply into one handheld shower.

What thread type does my tap have?

  • Female threads: Thread is on the inside (like a nut).
  • Male threads: Thread is on the outside of the fitting (like a bolt).

Common sizes:

  • M22 = 22mm male thread
  • M24 = 24mm male thread
  • M28 = 28mm male thread

If your tap has an external thread, you'll need a female aerator (e.g., M22 female), and vice versa.

Can I attach a shower hose to it?

Yes! Our Quick Fit Tap Aerator and Hose Connector allows you to turn your tap into an instant shower. It's perfect for rinsing hair, cleaning pets, or use in caravans, boats, and more.

How does the Thumb Lever Shower Head work?

Our Thumb Lever Shower Head features an on/off thumb lever, allowing you to control water flow easily.

It's as simple as push the lever to start the water flow and as soon as you release your thumb the water flow stops!

It's ideal for conserving water during showers and is suitable for homes, caravans, boats, and more.

Can I use the On/Off Trigger Thumb Lever Shower Head with an electric or pumped shower?

No. The On/Off Thumb Lever Shower Head is not suitable for electric or pumped showers. If you’re unsure which shower head is suitable for your water system, please contact us before ordering and we’ll help you choose the correct option.

Is it suitable for boats and caravans?

Absolutely! Our shower products are designed for versatility and can be used in various settings, including boats and caravans.

Can I use the Thumb Lever Shower Head to wash my baby or pet?

Yes, the gentle flow and easy thumb-lever control can make the shower head useful for washing pets, babies and young children — but care must always be taken with water temperature.

The Thumb Lever Shower Head does not contain a thermostatic temperature control and does not regulate the temperature of the water supplied to it.

Always set and check the water temperature at the tap before use and check it again before pressing the thumb lever to release water from the shower head. Re-check the temperature after any pause or whenever the hot or cold tap settings have been changed.

Take particular care when washing babies, young children, elderly people or anyone who may be more vulnerable to hot water. Never rely on the shower head itself to control or limit water temperature, and never leave a child unattended during use.

If in doubt, test the water carefully before allowing it to come into contact with skin.

Can I use the Quick Fit Tap Aerator to wash my hair in the kitchen sink?

Yes, with the appropriate hose attachment, you can easily wash your hair in the sink.

Why not pair it with our Thumb Lever Shower Head!

Is the Quick Fit suitable for renters, housing association homes or caravans?

Yes. Quick Fit products are designed to be easy to install and remove, with no permanent plumbing alterations required on a compatible tap. This makes them particularly useful for renters, housing association and supported-living homes, caravans, motorhomes and other situations where a permanent shower installation may not be practical.

If you live in rented or housing association accommodation, always check your tenancy or landlord requirements before making any changes to existing fittings.

If you’re unsure whether the Quick Fit will fit your tap, send us a clear photo and we’ll be happy to advise.

Does it work with both male and female taps?

Yes, our QuickFit Aerators come with adapters for both male and female tap fittings.

How long will my order take?

We aim to dispatch orders placed before 12pm on the same working day. Orders placed after 12pm will usually be dispatched the next working day (Mon–Fri).

UK orders are sent using Royal Mail tracked services, with tracking details provided once your order has been dispatched. Delivery times depend on the service selected at checkout.

What’s your return policy?

H20LOW offers a 30-day returns period for eligible returns.

For change-of-mind returns, items should be unused and in their original condition, and customers are normally responsible for return postage costs.

If an item is faulty, damaged or incorrect, please contact us and we’ll help arrange the appropriate solution.

Full details can be found in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Do you have fitting instructions or videos?

Absolutely. We have fitting and sizing guides as well as demonstration videos to help you choose, install and use your H20LOW products. If you still need help, send us a photo of your tap and we’ll be happy to advise.

Not sure which product you need?

Please ask us before ordering — we’re happy to help.

H20LOW products fit a wide range of taps and shower setups, but compatibility can depend on your tap style, thread size and existing fittings.

For the quickest advice, send us a clear photo of your tap, particularly the end where the aerator/fitting sits. If possible, also include any measurements or photos of the aerator once removed.

We can help you identify the most suitable product and any adapters or accessories you may need.
